New provincial program to promote sustainable tourism
A new provincial program to fund sustainable tourism initiatives has just been launched by the Quebec government.
The Destination durable et action concertée support measure is administered by the Fonds d’action québécois pour le développement durable and funded through the Plan pour une économie verte and the Plan d’action pour un tourisme durable et responsable.
An envelope of just under $8 million is dedicated to the program, which runs until 2025.
Businesses, non-profit organizations, municipal entities and Aboriginal communities are eligible.
The call for projects for the first component, which aims to support participatory and collaborative planning processes, runs from September 19 to October 31.
Examples of eligible projects as well as a guide for applicants are available on the website of the Fonds d’action québécois pour le développement durable.
A second complementary component will be unveiled in 2023.
