BAPE: some residents of Grosse-Île oppose the wind farm project
The second part of the BAPE public hearing on the Grosse-Île wind farm project began Tuesday evening.
49 written opinions were submitted to the commission prior to the hearing.
Around 40 people gathered in the Grosse-Île gymnasium for the occasion.
Eight citizens addressed the commission to express their views on the possible installation of four wind turbines in the salt mine area.
Half of the speakers were members of Grosse-Île’s English-speaking community and strongly opposed the project:
The public hearing on the proposed Grosse-Île wind farm will continue Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the Cap-aux-Meules Community Hall.
