Many citizens of Entry Island feel abandoned by public authorities.

This is what emerges from a vox pop conducted last Thursday with around ten residents of the small English-speaking and doubly insular community.

Asked about their expectations regarding the election of a new councilor for their district, which is twinned with the Cap-aux-Meules sector, several expressed their disillusionment, feeling that they were not really listened to by the elected officials or by the municipal administration.

The people surveyed also expressed their dismay at the sanitary facilities that they consider inadequate for welcoming visitors, more of whom than ever are relieving themselves on private property and near buildings.

The issue of dust linked to vehicle traffic on dirt roads as well as the general maintenance of the road network also rank at the top of the concerns expressed.

According to the comments collected, the ferry service operated by the CTMA to provide the connection with Cap-aux-Meules aboard the Ivan-Quinn seems to satisfy residents, although some improvements are desired.

Some citizens, however, say they are concerned about the technical shutdown of the ship, scheduled between September 1st and October 19th.

During this period, it will be impossible for them to deliver large goods or to transport cars to Entry Island.
