The Madeli-Aide pour l’éducation Foundation is back with a home delivery formula for its traditional lobster dinner scheduled for June 10th.

For a second consecutive year, meal boxes will be assembled in the Islands and then transported to Quebec City and Montreal instead of the event that usually takes place aboard the CTMA Vacancier, in order to better adapt to the changing health context, explains Line Cormier.

The vice-president of the foundation mentions that the system surrounding the assembly of the boxes and their distribution was well done in 2021 and can count on precious partners and volunteers again this year.

An invitation to donate 12 pounds of lobster is extended to the 325 Island fishermen, 250 of whom answered the call last year.

She notes that the honorary co-chair of the event will be the vice-president of retail operations at Sobeys, Geneviève Dugré, and the president and chief executive officer of Cogeco, Philippe Jetté.

The 2021 edition raised a record $270,000, an amount that Ms. Cormier would like to reach again.

She reminds us that the funds raised during the fundraising event are given in the form of bursaries to Magdalen Islands students who must pursue their studies outside the Islands as well as financial support to the Groupe persévérance scolaire for the realization of projects.
