The « Return to the Islands » grant renewed for a second year

Îles de la Madeleine

For a second year, the Fondation Madeli-aide in collaboration with the Stratégie d’attraction des personnes will offer bursaries to young Madelinots studying abroad and wishing to return to settle in the archipelago.

The two organizations will offer up to five bursaries of $4,000 each to professional, college or university students who are graduating or in the process of graduating in a field for which there is a labour shortage in the Islands.

Criteria for qualification include the relevance of the field of study, community involvement, consistency of academic progress and motivation for the planned career.

The registration form is available on the Madeli-Aide Foundation website and must be submitted before Sunday, May 29.

Coralie Aubé, a graduate in nursing from Laval University, and Pier-Alexis Cormier, a student in plumbing and heating at the Centre de formation professionnelle Samuel-De-Champlain, were awarded the « Retour aux Iles » bursary last year when the initiative was launched.

Julia Richard, a Bachelor of Social Work student at Université Laval, and Myriam Vigneau, a graduate of the Master of Science and Technology in Secondary Education program at Université de Montréal, complete the list of 2021 scholarship recipients.
