On the eve of its registration day for the winter session, the École de cirque des Îles introduces two experienced coaches who will collaborate with the instructors over the next few months.

Colin Heath and Manon Beaudoin, who have more than 30 years of experience in the circus arts and have performed in several major shows, will join the team.

The two accomplices, who studied together at the École de cirque in the 1980s, say they are excited about this new challenge.

According to the director, Rafaël De La Durantaye, the diversity of experience and skills of the two professionals will enhance the offer to participants in a context of gradual revival of the school’s activities.

The program, which will soon be unveiled in detail, includes the return of classes for adults as well as for teenagers, and the acrobatic component.

The social circus will resume on January 31 in Havre-Aubert, while an after-school program will be presented to students in both cycles of Aux Iris and Centrale schools for 17 weeks.

Mr. De la Durantaye explains that the session will be split in two, in addition to a summer session focused on the performing arts with the objective of participating in the Festival de cirque des Iles.

Registration takes place Sunday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Circus School, which is located inside the L’Étang-du-Nord Recreation Center.

The team is aiming for January 27 as the start date of the session.
