CALACS: return of awareness workshops for adults living with a disability
The CALACS l’Espoir des Îles resumes its awareness workshops on sexual violence for adults living with a disability.
The first campaign of this kind, set up last year, had been conclusive, indicates the coordinator Isabelle Cyr, since about forty people with disabilities and their relatives had participated.
She explains that two workshop formulas are offered for the summer, one of which consists of three one-hour meetings.
It is also possible to opt for a single visit lasting two hours.
Isabelle Cyr adds that a specialized resource is in charge of facilitating the meetings in order to adapt the content to the specific needs of the clientele.
She adds that, depending on the needs, workshops can be held in small or large groups, or even in individual sessions, in a variety of locations.
She invites adults living with a disability, their families, foster parents and employers to contact their local CALACS to make an appointment.
The meetings are free and will take place from July to mid-August.
