Dominic Hébert faces 18 charges
L’Étang-du-Nord resident Dominic Hébert is now facing a total of 18 charges, more than half of which are for luring minors.
The 23-year-old resident of Nelson-Renaud Street was intercepted and arrested in January 2022 in his vehicle by the Sûreté du Québec, who then seized a telephone.
He appeared at the Havre-Aubert courthouse before being released on bail.
In a first file, the man is charged with luring a minor or a person he believed to be a minor, production and distribution of child pornography, non-consensual publication of an intimate image and extortion.
A second case was opened last July, adding 11 counts of extortion, making sexually explicit material available to a child and, again, luring a minor.
The events allegedly occurred between April 2021 and January 2022.
In the denunciations made to the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions, the SQ officers list 12 alleged victims, all of whom were adolescents at the time of the events.
The identity of the complainants is protected by a publication ban.
