Lobster fishery: slight decrease in dockside price and catch volume

The price of lobster paid at the wharf is slightly lower for the fourth week of the 2022 fishery.

Magdalen Islands lobster fishers received $7.86/lb, the same price as at this time last year.

This is the first time since the beginning of the season that the dockside price has fallen below $8/lb.

As for landings, the Office des pêcheurs de homard des Îles estimates that just over 1,510,000 pounds were caught.

This represents a modest decrease of 3.5% compared to the catch volume for the same period in 2021.
