Revenu Québec: agreement in principle with professionals and start of the tax season
Revenue Quebec and the union representing its professional employees have reached an agreement in principle.
The Syndicat des professionnels du gouvernement du Québec says the agreement was deemed satisfactory by the negotiating committee.
An interim body must now decide whether the document will be presented to the 5,800 members of the SPGQ, who would then be asked to vote on it by the end of the month.
The agreement concerns salaries and working conditions, according to the union’s website.
Without a contract since April 2020, professional staff at the Quebec tax department began an evening and weekend strike in the fall before contemplating a longer walkout in February, a process that has not yet begun.
On the other hand, Revenu Québec informs the population that it will be possible to transmit its tax returns filed with an authorized software via ImpôtNet Québec as of next Monday.
The 2022 tax season runs from February 20 to May 1.
