Lobster fishery: price drop for the 6th week; 1.5M lbs caught

Magdalen Islands lobster fishers obtained $7.47/lb for the sixth week of fishing.

This represents a decrease of 10.5% compared to the same period in 2021, when the price at the wharf reached $8.34/lb.

In terms of landings, the Lobster Fishing Board estimates that approximately 1,532,600 pounds were caught at the end of the two-thirds of the 2022 season.

This is an increase of 38% compared to last year and 5% compared to 2020.
