Flottille artisan-e-s libraires will soon be established in downtown Cap-aux-Meules.

The first independent cooperative bookstore in the Islands will be located in the premises of the Jana boutique.

It is a long time dream that is coming true for the co-founder Mélodie Caron, who reminds us that the objective is to make it a place with a cultural vocation.

The board of directors is in the process of creating the Flotilla’s literary collection, which means determining which books will be on the shelves of the bookstore.

A socio-financing campaign on the platform La Ruche is also underway to collect donations for the development of a youth section, says Ms. Caron.

Minor work needs to be done on the building before the bookstore can open.

She estimates that Flotilla will be able to welcome its first customers in October.
