Mayoral race: 4 candidates will face each other in the ballot box
It will finally be an all-male four-way fight for the chair of Mayor of the Magdalen Islands and President of the Maritime Community.
The clerk of the municipality and president of the election, Andrée-Maude Renaud, confirmed Friday afternoon the names that will be on the ballot.
As announced in the last few weeks, former Havre-aux-Maisons councillor and ex-co-director of Carrefour jeunesse-emploi Nicolas Arseneau as well as director of the Chambre de commerce des Îles and ex-journalist Antonin Valiquette will be in the race.
Fisherman Kaven Langford, who is trying his luck again in a municipal election, as well as the candidacy filed in extremis by Steeve Chevarie, employee at the JH Boudreau grocery store, complete the quartet.
Advance polls will be held on February 26, while the public will be called to the polls on March 5.
